In this age of adulteration, it is highly recommended to order ingredients that are sourced from a trusted source. What if I told you, that now you can order directly from a Farmer’s Market, from the comfort of your home. iOrderFresh.com is India’s First Digital Farmers’ Market Place. To try out the service and to see how it works, FOODelhi recently collaborated with them for the ‘Ultra Fresh Cook Off’.
We shortlisted two recipes;
- 7-Minute Egg and Potato Salad
- Grilled Egg Plant Salad
And then, we asked our fellow foodies to vote for the one they’d like us to prepare (The voting took place on our Instagram handles, @foodelhi and #iorderfresh_)
The 7-Minute Egg and Potato Salad turned out to be the popular choice and hence, we were all set to prepare this dish entirely with the ingredients ordered from iOrderFresh.com
Both the app and the website were easy to use and hence, there was no hassle whatsoever. The best part was that we were able to find all the ingredients (included the likes of Apple Cider Vinegar, which may not have been readily available at the neighborhood super market).
The ingredients arrived perfectly fresh and within the promised time. This is when I began cooking the 7-minute egg and potato salad. The eggs we ordered from http://iorderfresh.com for this salad were the Omega-3 enriched, high-tech and odorless eggs (perfect for the eggetarians).
Here is the quick recipe for this uhh-mazingly delicious salad.
Steps for Creating the 7-Minute Egg & Potato Salad
Step 1: Order the following ingredients (preferably from iOrderFresh).
Odorless Eggs, Baby Potatos/Potatos, Mustard Seeds, Apple Cider Vinegar, Organic Honey, Fresh Parsley.
(Qty as per your requirement and as per the number of consumers)
Boil the eggs for exactly 7 minutes and then transfer to a bowl filled with chilled water.
Boil the potatoes ideal for a salad with potato chunks and not a potato mash. (If you’re using baby potatoes, you can steam them instead of boiling).
Toss the mustard seeds in a hot pan, until they start popping. (Transfer to a bowl immediately after popping).
Whisk Apple Cider Vinegar, Olive Oil and Mustard Seeds until emulsified (season with Salt and Pepper). Set aside some of this tasty vinaigrette for a drizzle over the final dish.
Transfer the diced potatoes into the vinaigrette and toss to create a coating. Then start stacking the halved eggs. Season with some more salt and pepper (as per your taste). Drizzle the remaining vinaigrette, garnish with some mustard seeds, chives/onions, chilley and parsley.
The sweet and smokey flavor of the vinaigrette and the mustard seeds along with the yummy boiled eggs and potatoes will make for a very healthy and yummy filling salad (fresh ingredients are a must).
